The choke and kill manifold contains several key components that play a critical role in controlling wellhead pressure and performing wellbore fracturing operations.
throttle valve
-Function: This is the central component of the throttling manifold, which adjusts the flow rate and pressure of the fluid by changing the cross-sectional area of its own channel. Just like a faucet valve, its opening is controlled by rotation and sliding, precisely controlling the fluid pressure flowing out of the well. If the wellhead pressure is too high, adjust the opening of the throttle valve appropriately to allow the fluid to flow out at an appropriate flow rate and reduce the wellhead pressure.
-Type: Common needle type throttle valve and plug-in throttle valve. Needle type throttle valve changes the size of the flow channel by the inlet and outlet of the valve core (needle valve), while cylinder type throttle valve adjusts the throttling area by the vertical movement of the valve core in the valve cylinder.

gate valve
-Function: Mainly used to control the on/off of fluids. In various pipelines of the throttling and well control manifold, gate valves open and close specific pipelines to allow fluid to flow along a predetermined route. For example, if a specific pipeline does not need to be operated, the gate valve of the pipeline can be closed to prevent fluid from entering.
Features: The gate valve has excellent sealing performance, low fluid resistance when fully opened, and can withstand high pressure, so it can reliably cut off fluid even in high-pressure environments.
One way valve (check valve)
-Function: It is very important in the kill manifold as it ensures that fluid flows only in one direction. When the well killing fluid is injected into the well through the well killing manifold, the one-way valve prevents the fluid from flowing back into the well, avoiding the backflow of the well killing fluid and ensuring the smooth progress of the well killing operation.
-Working principle: The valve core is pushed by the pressure of the fluid itself. When the fluid flows in the opposite direction, the valve core closes the flow path under its own gravity or spring force.

pressure gauge
-Function: Used for real-time display of fluid pressure inside the manifold. Operators can accurately determine the wellhead pressure based on the pressure gauge reading, and quickly and accurately adjust components such as throttle valves to effectively control the wellhead pressure.
-Installation location: Usually installed in the main parts of the manifold, such as near the wellhead or before and after the throttle valve, to comprehensively monitor pressure changes at various locations.
pipeline connection
-Function: Connect various components to form a complete throttling and well control manifold system. These pipelines must have sufficient strength and corrosion resistance to withstand high pressure, high temperature, and various corrosive fluids.
-Material: Generally made of high-strength alloy steel and other materials, it can adapt to complex underground environments and various working conditions.
